Studying in Berlin during winter semester – an international perspective

What I like most about Berlin would have to be the “buzz” in the air. Being surrounded by a high-energy environment is motivating and constantly pushes you to get out there, interact, up-skill and achieve. Berlin as a city has this “buzz”, and it permeates throughout our campus.

My favourite place in Berlin…
…to study:

One of the many co-working spaces off the mainstream that are scattered across the city. The atmosphere lends an inspirational backdrop.

…to shop:

The Bikini Berlin shopping centre houses some of the coolest independent designers from all across Germany – a very unique place to grab your Berlin look!

…to go out:

The mix of expats and trendy spots in Berlin Mitte, a borough situated in central Berlin, is where I usually gravitate towards when I go out with friends.

…to eat out:

I occasionally like to treat myself to delicatessens at KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) – a large legendary department store. Who doesn’t like a little bit of luxury?

…to contemplate:

My cosy apartment with a direct view of the TV Tower.

…to get in the Christmas spirit:

The Xmas market at Gendermanmarkt, enclosed by the picturesque opera house.

…to flirt:

That’s confidential information 😉

…to relax:

Anywhere along the river Spree.

…burn off energy:

With the IUBH running society in Treptower Park

My favourite place:

One of my favorites haunts in Berlin has to be “Thaipark”. A weekly Sunday ritual in the leafy borough of Charlottenburg, Thaipark is a celebration of sumptuous authentic Asian offered from make-shift stalls spread across the greens of a cozy park. Expect a picnic type atmosphere, lots of sun, smiles and a fiery bowl of red curry!
